This year’s Private Label Show (PLMA 2019), also known as the “World of Private Labels”, was held at the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam from 21 – 22 May 2019. Every year, retailers and manufacturers from all over the world come together at this international trade fair to learn about new products, exchange ideas and make new contacts.

The European Association for Specialty Yeast Products (EURASYP) took advantage of this opportunity to talk to retailers and manufacturers about the use of yeast extract in the production of foodstuffs. In particular, the association informed retailers about the use of yeast extract as a natural, meat-free ingredient in the production of vegetarian and vegan food products. Many manufacturers of organic products are still unaware that there are a multitude of biological yeast extracts ideally suited for use in organic foods.

With over 2,700 exhibitors from all over the world and around 60 national and regional pavilions, the PLMA is considered one of the most important trade fairs for promoting private labels. It is organised by the Private Label Manufacturers Association, which represents more than 4,400 member companies worldwide. In addition to providing a forum for manufacturers and retailers, the trade fair offers numerous seminars on current issues affecting the retail industry.
